Safety in no numbers

Whether you are shopping online or paying an individual, you never disclose your bank account number, credit card number or your personal banking details. You only have to give your Pago wallet name. With online shopping you are given a one-time unique code for each purchase and because it's your own money you won't be using credit (i.e. going into debt).

Daily Limits

Just like your physical wallet you get to choose how much cash you carry.  We do not recommend large balances being kept in your wallet. As an additional safety measure, Pago puts limits on how much you can spend in one day (if you would feel happier with a lower limit then you can set this on the 'Wallet preferences' screen):

Shopping online - $2,500 maximum.

When you use Pago to shop online you use your own cash (rather than credit). Like EFTPOS you will be able to spend the lesser amount of $2,500 per day or whatever is in your Pago wallet.

Person-to-person - $200 maximum.

The limit includes cash you send to other people. You can make as many payments as you like in one day, as long as the total is under $200.

Wallet name

Unlike your bank accounts, your Pago wallet name can be whatever you want it to be - your actual name, your nickname, your Trade Me name...anything you like (as long as it's not offensive).
